No alterations were made to the works; each piece is presented exactly as created by the participant.
紙粘土にポスターカラーで仕上げている。カップは身近な生活の食器。まず、カップの形を作る。力がいるのでこの部分は職員の方にもお手伝いいただいた。そして、装飾が始まる。
自由に思い描いていただく。顔を作る方、大きな花を作ってつける方、仕上げを想定して飾りをつける方、それぞれ。
紙粘土につけるときは、ボンドを使っている。乾くのを待って色を付けているので、１か月をかけて制作した。
中には、あらこんなの作ったっけと思い出せない方もいたが、しばらくすると楽しそうに色付けをされて仕上げている。色が大胆で明るい。そして細やか、さらに辛抱強い。
The paper clay is finished with poster paint. Cups are everyday household items. First, the shape of the cup is formed. As this requires considerable strength, staff members assisted with this part. Then, the decoration begins.
Participants are free to create whatever they envision. Some make faces, others create large flowers to attach, and others add decorations with the final look in mind – each approach is different.
Adhesive is used to attach items to the paper clay. As we waited for it to dry before applying colour, the entire process took about a month.
Some participants initially couldn’t recall what they had made, but soon became engrossed in the enjoyable task of colouring and finishing their pieces. The colours are bold and bright. The work is meticulous and remarkably patient.
