しいたけは、キノコと言ったら「しいたけ」というほど日本人の家庭料理に馴染んだ野菜である。料理に味を加え、生だけでなく、干したシイタケは煮物や冠婚葬祭、いつでも活躍する。
しかし、しいたけを描くのは難しい、細かい襞まである。しかし、みなさんは迷いなく描かれた。
自由に伸び伸びと、ある方は細やかに、あるいは大胆に。９０歳まで元気でいるとは、こういうことなのか。
Shiitake mushrooms are so deeply ingrained in Japanese home cooking that the word “mushroom” is practically synonymous with “shiitake”. They add flavour to dishes, and while fresh shiitake are used, dried shiitake are indispensable in simmered dishes, ceremonial occasions, and indeed at any time.
Yet depicting shiitake is challenging, with their intricate folds. Nevertheless, you all rendered them without hesitation.
Freely and unrestrainedly, some with meticulous detail, others with bold strokes. To remain so sprightly at ninety – is this what it means?
