花火をひっかき絵で表現していただく。少し難しい画法だ。なぜなら、せっかく描いた美しい色の上に、クレパスで真っ黒に塗ってしまうからだ。ここで皆さんは、常識という思考がストップする。なぜ、という疑問でいっぱいになる。
しかし、先を鉛筆のように削った割り箸で、真っ黒な色の上を引っ掻く。すると、下地に塗った鮮やかな色が出てくる。ここで、皆さんはホッとして、引っ掻くことに全集中する。
出来上がった絵は、真っ暗な夜空に咲く、花のような花火。皆さんは宝探しをしたような時間だったのではないか。
意図として、夜空と花火を表現する、なのだが、実は結果がわからなくても新しいことに挑戦する時間を持っていただきたかったというのが、私の本音。
Express fireworks using a scratch art technique. It’s a rather tricky method. Why? Because you’ll be covering the beautiful colours you’ve painstakingly drawn with thick black crayon. At this point, your common sense thinking comes to a halt. You’ll be filled with questions like, ‘Why?’
But then, using a chopstick sharpened like a pencil, you scratch across the black surface. What happens? The vivid colours you painted underneath emerge. At this point, you all breathe a sigh of relief and focus entirely on scratching.
The finished picture shows fireworks like flowers blooming in the pitch-black night sky. It must have felt like a treasure hunt for you all.
The intention was to express the night sky and fireworks, but honestly, my true aim was for you to have time to try something new, even without knowing the outcome.
