イヌは、粘土で作りたかった。きっと皆さんの家庭で飼われていたことだろう。犬談議に話がはずむ。
このテーマは、年末、翌年の干支「戌年」にちなんで制作した、きっと中にはイヌよりもネコと思う方もいらしたに違いないが、干支ならばしかたない。
紙粘土で制作しながら、体をつくり、足をつくり、耳をつくる。鼻を伸ばすと、愛犬の顔がきっと目に浮かんでいたことと思う。制作しながら、愛しんでいた愛犬の話をしてくださる方も多くいらしたから。
紙粘土と仕上げはポスターカラー、愛犬の色合いにされた方もいらした、美しい記憶。
I wanted to make a dog out of clay. Surely many of you had one at home. The conversation flowed freely about dogs.
This theme was created for the end of the year, in honour of the coming Year of the Dog. Some among you must surely have thought of cats rather than dogs, but when it comes to the zodiac, there’s no helping it.
Working with paper clay, we shaped the body, then the legs, then the ears. As we lengthened the nose, the face of their beloved dog surely came to mind. Many shared stories of their cherished pets while creating.
Using paper clay and poster colours for the finish, some chose hues matching their dog’s coat – a beautiful memory.
